Volunteer Descriptions

 

Below are the descriptions for each volunteer category.  Please remember that if you are volunteering anywhere in the district, you will need to fill out the PISD Volunteer Background Check for this school year that can be found here.

 

Communications/Social Media Chair/Volunteers:

  • Promote the Orchestra on all social media sites (Facebook, twitter, and Instagram).

  • Post event follow up on media sites with pictures, thank you, “shout outs”, etc.

  • Maintain the Orchestra website in conjunction with the Orchestra Director.

  • Assist with design layout of Orchestra concert programs and banquet program.

 

Fundraising Chair/Volunteers:

  • Maintain relationship with designated community Spirit Night vendors.

  • Suggest fundraisers to support the needs of the Orchestra throughout the school year.

  • Coordinate/Assist with planning/executing agreed upon fundraisers.

  • Work in conjunction with the POBC Treasurer when funds incur.

 

Hospitality Chair/Volunteers:

  • Coordinate and/or assist with such things as setup of refreshments at PHS Orchestra concerts.

  • Provide assistance with student socials, such as purchasing of food and supplies if needed.

  • Setup events in Signup Genius to coordinate Orchestra volunteers when needed, ie. refreshment donations, setup/break down event duties, etc.

 

Chaperone Volunteers:

  • Accompany the Orchestra when requested by the Orchestra Director for field trips, competitions, Spring Trip, etc.

  

Special Event Volunteers:

  • Assist with any special events that the Orchestra and/or POBC may be hosting or participating in, which may consist of various duties that will be defined and communicated at the designated time.
